    BAUCHI STATE DEPUTY GOVERNOR URGES JOURNALISTS TO SHUN SENTIMENTS IN REPORTAGE


    Bauchi State Deputy Governor, His Excellency Engr Nuhu Gidado has urged journalists to avoid sentiments and sensationalism in the discharge of their duties.
    Engr. Nuhu Gidado made the call while declaring open, Correspondents’ Week in Bauchi on Monday 14th March, 2016. He reminded journalists of the important position they occupy in the society as the fourth estate of the realm and the voice of the voiceless.

    While urging members of the Bauchi State Chapel to practice their profession in-line with democratic tenets and the very ethics of their profession, Engr Gidado further urged them to avoid sentiments and sensationalism in whatsoever guise. He reminded the gathering that Journalists have a burden to report realities on ground and not prejudices or rumours which are capable of propagating hate.

    He reaffirmed the commitment of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Bauchi State to change the fortune of the state in-line with the change agenda of President Buhari Administration.
